Speech-language pathologists sometimes called speech therapists, assess, diagnose, treat, and help to prevent disorders related to speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency. Our speech-language pathologists have many years of experience and hold a master's degree. All have earned a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and are licensed by the State of South Carolina to practice Speech-Language Pathology.
The basic foundation of learning is the ability to communicate. The Center's speech-language pathologists are specialized in assessing children and developing treatment plans tailored to meet the needs of both the child and the family. Often they collaborate with other professionals establishing a more comprehensive plan and coordinating services. The speech-language program at the Center supports infants to pre-teens.
